Lido Aperitivo!

Slate and the Vermont Italian Cultural Association invite you to an afternoon inspired by Italy's beach clubs.

Matt Scialabba and Melissa Pellegrino — husband-and-wife chefs behind Connecticut's Bufalina restaurant — are joining us to share stories and a slideshow from their latest cookbook, Lido: Recipes & Stories from Italy's Beach Clubs. The book covers the culture of Italy's 25,000+ beach clubs alongside over 60 coastal-inspired recipes. Matt and Melissa have visited all twenty-one regions of Italy and lived there for four years, and that depth comes through on every page.

We'll make a cocktail straight from the book, serve up some bites to match the mood, and settle in for a conversation about their Italy adventures and the world of the lido. Think aperitivo hour, but in Burlington's South End.

All kitchen items at Slate will be discounted for attendees during the event. Copies of Lido will be available for purchase and signing.
