40 Years since we graduated...WOW where did the time go?
Our 40th reunion is upon us and here is the announcement you've been waiting for. The LHS 85 reunion weekend will be Friday August 15th at the Backstage Bar from 6-11pm and the Saturday night event will be in our Hometown of Lakewood at Georgetown VOSH from 6-9 pm. Friday is being hosted by "The 3 Stooges" Dan Logan, Kristen Orgill Gerrick, Dawn Bostin Marrie and Brian Moran (he's just finding this out) and our classmate Dave Renick at his establishment. This event has no cost and is cash bar.
The Saturday event is just for the Class of 85. It will be at Georgetown VOSH from 6-9 pm. There will be Heavy Appetizers,
Top Shelf Open Bar and Soft drinks. Music will be featured from 1982 to 1985. The investment for this event is $85 per person. We are looking forward to having 150 people at this casual / personal event. It is open to LHS 85ers and their spouses or +1s. This is an adults only event per the venue. Payment can be made via check, Venmo or Zelle (details to follow shortly on this post) Cut off for your reservation is July 31st and they are non refundable but transferrable. We would love for this event to be a full house. You may invest in as many tickets as you wish. Free parking is available behind the venue. We are asking that you take pics on your phone. There will be a shared APP you can post your pics to for all to see (details forthcoming).
There are also some thoughts about voting to change our class song as most folks don't have any clue on what it was originally or have it confused with a different version. Its "Changes" by YES btw. So watch for upcoming details on that, on this page.
So there you have it. This is your 6 month notice.
**Now here is where I will be direct. The committee has done fine job. We have invested hours of time and our own personal funds to secure the venue. Any negative comments or complaints about the cost, venue, menu or drinks will not be tolerated and deleted. We will do our best to accommodate all, as some appetizers will have vegetarian options, but we cannot guarantee a gluten free option at this time. We will not have a reduced cost if you choose not to eat and or drink. This is based on us reserving a venue in Lakewood on a Saturday, during wedding season. We were fortunate enough to have reserved this venue and note it was the last & only date available. This will also be the last reunion where this committee will plan a 2 night event. So come to one, come to both, the choice is yours. I don't mean to sound stern but a ton of effort goes into making this happen. This committee is all volunteer and is working for the benefit of us even having a reunion. It is not designed to exclude anyone and frankly speaking we are getting older and I personally just don't have time for Negative Vibes.
