About this Event
Join us for an hour of yoga at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre.
Yoga is held on an ad-hoc basis on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am - 12pm. Please check Eventbrite for any changes and ensure you have registered before attending. Yoga mats are provided but please bring your own if you wish.
Sessions are charged on a pay-what-you-can basis. All payments go towards supporting the ongoing work of the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre.
One of our wonderful volunteer Yoga facilitators, Martina, will be hosting a special yoga class on Saturday 21 June from 11am-12:30pm for International Yoga Day before heading off on a new adventure!
11am-12pm
Full body slow Vinyasa Yoga. This class will link movement breath, focusing on slow and mindful transitions. We'll cultivate strength, flexibility and inner peace. Suitable for all levels.
12-12:30pm
Dive deeper into yoga after our practice. Martina will guide you through a brief exploration of yoga's rich principles.
- Discover the meaning behind common yoga postures and their benefits
- Briefly explain foundational poses like downward-facing dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana), Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II) and lunges
- Yoga philosophy - gain insights into ethical guidances and inner observances of yoga known as the Yamas and Niyamas
- Explore the concept of Chakras (energy centres in the body)
- Q&A: your opportunity to ask any questions you have about yoga, its practices and philosophy!
About the facilitators
Morning yoga is run by a rotating group of LGBTQ+ volunteers, all of whom are professionally qualified yoga instructors.

Covid safety at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre:
To keep our community safe, we ask that all visitors do not visit the centre if they are feeling symptoms including headache, fever, sore throat, consistent cough or chills.
Masks and hand sanitiser are available for use free of charge. All yoga mats are cleaned between sessions.
