Rocks and minerals surround us, not just on the ground but in items we use every day. These natural treasures can be found almost everywhere and are easy and fun to collect. Children will be shown some collected specimens from Ontario and other places around the world and given instruction on how to go about assembling their own collection. Some simple tests will be interactively shown to help identify minerals using their unique properties, like magnetism, color, streak, and hardness. Stick around after the talk to enjoy rock painting with museum staff. Please bring your own seating.Time: 1:30pm
Cost: $3 admission applies
Everyone Welcome!
No pre-registration required.
