Let’s Make Paint Workshop w. Mel Fiorentinoo

This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the traditional craft of making oil paint from raw pigments. Students will learn how professional-quality oil paint is created, how materials influence color and handling, and how handmade paint differs from commercial brands. Participants will work directly with raw pigments and oils, learning proper safety, mulling techniques, and paint storage. Each attendee will create three custom oil paint colors to take home. This one-day workshop runs from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM, and all supplies are provided.

Target Demographic

• Teens and adults
• Beginner to advanced artists
• Oil painters, mixed-media artists, and creatives interested in materials and process
• No prior paint-making experience required

Materials List

All materials are provided by the instructor, including:

• Raw pigments
• Oils and binders
• Mullers and glass slabs
• Containers for finished paint
• Aprons and protective supplies

Participants do not need to bring anything.
