About this Event

About this Event

Why not come along and walk, get active, make new friends on one of our guided walks . All you need to do is book in on this free walking session.

This is a varied walk which takes us to the River Tone, via Hankridge Water Park. Passing under the M5, the footpath then follows the field edge and then onto Ruishton. After a short detour through the village, we rejoin the footpath along the banks of the River Tone, heading downstream to Creech St Michael. We then join the canal towpath and return to Bathpool. We will stop at Chard Junction, where in 1842, the two canals joined. The Chard Canal closed in 1868, having only been in use for 26 years.

Please be advised that the walk is not suitable for wheelchair users or mobility scooter users.

There are no toilet facilities.

Participants should meet at 10:00am at the car park at the end of Dyers Lane, Bathpool, TA2 8BZ.

The What3Words location reference is: remote.handrail.observes

This walk is approximately 3.8 miles (6.2km) and we expect to be back at Bathpool between 12:30pm and 1pm.
