Let's Talk Scars: Vaginal & C‑Section Healing Postpartum
About this Event
Let’s Talk Scars: Vaginal & C-Section Healing Postpartum - Even Years After Birth
With Ramona Peoples from Body Orchestra, in partnership with E14YogaCoach
If you have a C-section scar, episiotomy or tear, or you still experience tension or discomfort around your lower abdomen or pelvic area after birth, this workshop is for you - whether you gave birth a few months ago or several years ago.
Birth-related scars can affect much more than the skin itself. You may notice tightness, pulling, reduced sensation, discomfort during intimacy, changes around your tummy or simply feel that an area of your body has never quite felt the same since giving birth.
During this two-hour interactive workshop, Ramona Peoples will explain what can happen to scar tissue as it heals and show you practical, non-invasive self-care techniques that you can safely explore for yourself.
We’ll cover:
- Different types of birth-related scars and how they can affect the surrounding tissue
- How scar tissue may influence movement, sensation, breathing, core stability and pelvic floor function
- How to begin checking in with your own scar and the surrounding area
- Practical self-care techniques you can use at home to gently work with scar tissue
- Common concerns including tightness, roughness, the C-section “pouch”, discomfort during intimacy and older scars
- When it may be helpful to seek additional professional support
There will also be plenty of time for group Q&A, so you can bring the questions you have never quite known who to ask.
The practical section will be completed seated on chairs. All techniques are non-invasive and self-directed, and you remain completely in control of what you choose to explore.
This is a group education and self-care workshop rather than an individual consultation, diagnosis or treatment. If something you raise would benefit from individual assessment, Ramona will explain what kind of professional support may be appropriate.
