Community gardening sessions!

Are you interested in food growing in Barking & Dagenham?

Join the team at Barking Food Forest for activities and workshops on all aspects of growing your own food, from seed-sowing to harvesting (and eating!) your homegrown produce. Events are free and no experience is required.

All sessions are from 11am-2pm, every Saturday.

Over the next few Saturdays, we will be quite busy setting things in place ahead of the cold season. We will be working on:

Levelling the ground in the Polytunnel greenhouse

Constructing nursery beds for the Greenhouse

Collecting and storing seeds for next season

Meeting to discuss the plants intended for the next season

Design the kitchen garden and nursery for next season

Clean the kitchen garden

General weeding and cleaning
