About this Event
In our current day, it is an unfortunate reality that the topic of Palestine has become charged, sensitive and avoided by many, especially at a time when conversations are more needed than ever. This event series hopes to change that.
An enlightened society has the capacity to have difficult and pertinent conversations, especially when such conversations are of major public interest in respect to US tax dollars and diplomatic immunity being used to aid and abet one of the most longstanding and intractable human rights catastrophes of our modern age.
Knowledge is power, and the only way to emerge from darkness is to light the torch of truth to expand consciousness into a more informed perspective.
In this three-part series, a Palestinian community member of Boulder, Ramzy, will host an open-ended conversation and Q&A about Palestine, an issue near and dear to his heart.
The series will cover the past, present and future of Palestine.
- Part 1, How We Got Here, on September 29, will look into the history of the Zionist movement, how the Palestinian-Israeli 'conflict' started and how it has progressed to the present day. This will be in-depth, thorough and especially suited for beginners to the conflict or anyone who wants a high-level crash course on the history of the situation.
- Part 2, The Status Quo, on October 13, will look at the present day situation including the occupation of the West Bank, the Israeli settlements, the catastrophe in Gaza, the Fatah-Hamas schism, Israel's fanatical right-wing government and other facts-on-the-ground that are preventing peace.
- Part 3, Visions for Freedom, on October 20, will look into possible solutions for how the two forsaken peoples in the land of Palestine/Israel can achieve peace and reconciliation.
You can attend any single event, two events, or all three in the series, and each will be a complete, enriching experience on its own.
The events will be hosted at a private location in Boulder, CO that will be revealed upon registering.
Events start promptly at 3 pm on their respective Sundays.
At the end of each event we will collect donations for a fund supporting the advancement and preservation of Palestinian arts and culture.
