You'll be taught the basics of fishing tackle, how to correctly hold a pole, bait the hook, recognise bites, land and unhook fish and much more. We'll also advise on best value for equipment to help you get started on your own and point you in the direction of a suitable local club or academy when you are ready for it. All you need to do now is to book in and turn up on time on the day. If you decide you would like to return multiple times, our coaches can provide you with a free copy of our Let's Fish certification programme booklet to support you on your fishing journey.

Who are these events for?

The one-hour sessions are open to all adults and children aged from SIX years old and upwards who are seriously interested in trying out a fascinating new hobby. Experience shows these introductory learn to fish events are absolutely brilliant for children between the ages of 6 & 15. We encourage parents to book in and have a go too, so you can learn to fish as a family. We welcome participants returning multiple times, especially those involved in our schools programme and on their journey towards the national celebration of young people and fishing.

What do I need to bring?

All fishing equipment and bait is supplied, however, you should wear appropriate clothing for the expected weather conditions and you MUST bring a chair for anyone who is spectating and they must sit behind the participant.
