Join us on Friday, September 20 to take action with Let’s Do it! Nicosia, a unique, one-of-a-kind bicommunal clean-up project that takes place along the buffer zone. Let’s Do It! Nicosia brings together both communities for one common purpose – to clean up all areas and neighbourhoods within the 11 bastions of the walled city. The beauty of Let’s Do It! Nicosia lies in cooperation and collaboration: building bridges between the G/C and T/C communities while at the same time promoting and educating its citizens on environmental matters of sustainability and biodiversity. With just a day before International Peace Day (21/9/2024) we invite all to join with their families and friends for a walk within Nicosia’s historic centre.
All interested volunteers please contact one of the four organizers before September 13. Since the September sun is still quite strong, everyone is advised to bring a hat, a bottle of water, and comfortable walking shoes. Registration is not required.
Cleanup will start at Phaneromeni Church (in the south) and Büyük Han (in the north) at 18:00 pm sharp. All volunteers are strongly advised to show their presence by 17:30 pm. Both routes will end at 19:00 am at the Home for Cooperation, where all volunteers will have an opportunity to meet and greet. Drinks and snacks will be provided!
Let’s Do It! Nicosia is organized by Let’s Do It! Cyprus (south), Yeşil Barış Hareketi (north) and U.S. Embassy Nicosia.
