About the Great Southeast Pollinator Census:
This community science project was started by Becky Griffin (University of Georgia Extension) with three goals in mind: to create sustainable pollinator habitat, increase the entomological literacy of our communities, and generate useful data about pollinator populations.
The first statewide count took place in Georgia in 2019, and the census has continued to grow ever since, with Florida joining in 2024.
