Families with children with sensory sensitivities are invited to explore the galleries during our Sensory Saturday. During this time, all rotating audio components will be turned down or muted to ensure a calm environment.
Also, join our Sensory Saturday Hands-On program for activities filled with sensory play and inspired by our newest special exhibition: New African Masquerades: Artistic Innovations and Collaborations. Explore and experiment with non-toxic, sensory-friendly materials in the Membership Garden as we use elements of science to inspire artmaking. All ages are welcome, though activities are generally geared towards ages 2-10.
Sensory Saturdays occur on the first Saturday of every month.
Sat, Sept 5, 10 AM – 12 PM
If you would like to participate in the hands-on activities, registration is required at $5 per person. Only register those participating in sensory play.
Please select a time slot of either 10 AM – 11 AM or 11 AM – 12 PM.
