Lessons On Street Photography with Christine Kemp

These photos are part of an ongoing photographic project called Wonderland. This project is my exploration of San Francisco, and the wondrous, often nonsensical moments I experience here.

They are my representation of the culture of the city; they celebrate playfulness, individuality, and community.In San Francisco, an openness toward self expression is palpable, and visual surprises abound. I aim to document the spirit of a time and a place, and immortalize it in candid photographs.

Christine is a street photographer based in San Francisco, California. She began photographing in 2021 and immediately fell in love with street photography. Complex scenes inspire Christine and aims to create visually pleasing and compositionally precise photos with a strong sense of place and time.

In particular, Christine is interested in documenting everyday culture in San Francisco, demonstrating the city’s uniqueness.

She loves street photography because it allows her to take an everyday occurrence and turn it into art. It reminds her that serendipitous moments are happening all around me.

Her work has been shown locally in galleries in San Francisco, and internationally in Germany, France, Italy, the UK, Singapore, and Australia is also a a co-founder and member of the street photography collective, Candid City.
