📚 Lecture: "Seeds of Life: Mythology Meets the Cosmos"
🎤 Speaker: Dr. Moiya McTier
Join us for a delightful evening with Dr. Moiya McTier as we celebrate the arrival of spring, a season of rebirth by exploring the stories surrounding the beginnings of life. In this captivating lecture, Dr. McTier will take us on a journey through mythology, visiting Persephone on her annual trek from the underworld, and will delve into the intriguing panspermia hypothesis proposed by astronomers. Together, we will seek to answer the age-old question philosophers have pondered for millennia: how did we get here?
Dr. Moiya McTier is an astrophysicist, folklorist, and science communicator based in NYC. A graduate of Harvard and Columbia, she has delivered hundreds of talks internationally, designed exhibits for museums and art galleries, and even assisted Disney in crafting fictional worlds. When she's not writing or engaging audiences about the workings of the universe, you can find her enjoying some trashy TV with her cats.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore the intersection of mythology and science with the talented Dr. McTier!
