🧠 Lecture: "Scandalous Women & What They Wore (or Didn’t): 1780-1980"

🎤 Speaker: Author and Fashion Expert, Liza Nash Taylor

From the daring décolletage of Marie Antoinette’s French court to the campy pinup girls of the 1950s, women’s fashion has both shocked and shaped society. Join author and former Ralph Lauren fashion designer Liza Nash Taylor for a vivid, image-rich journey through 200 years of style, scandal, and self-expression.

Through a dynamic slideshow of portraits, sculpture, fashion, and photography, you’ll meet the aristocrats, socialites, performers, and feminists who used clothing as a conduit to power, independence, fame, and infamy. Discover how hemlines, corsets, and corset-busting rebels rewrote the rules of femininity and public life.

Liza Nash Taylor holds a BA in Art from Mary Baldwin University, an MA in Creative Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts, and studied Fashion Design at Parsons and FIT. She is the author of two historical novels from Blackstone Publishing, including Etiquette for Runaways, named one of Parade’s 30 Best Beach Reads.
