Alisa Oleva is a walking artist who is currently in residency at the QO2 workspace for experimental music and sound art, here in Brussels. During her residency she explores the night, and how the night sounds in an urban space: How does the soundscape change as the city transitions into darkness? Who walks the streets at night and who is absent? What if she wakes up and she can listen to the livestream of the night outside in her own city? Can we listen to distant nights in other places? How do they sound? The night in a city at war with a curfew or a night in the city where it never gets dark in summer? In this lecture Oleva will talk more about how she conceived of this project, and which practices her nocturnal questioning inspired.
