The Free Peoples of Russia House is honored to host Lech Wałęsa, former President of Poland and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, for an evening of reflection, insight, and perspective.

With the clarity of experience and the authority of lived history, he will reflect on leadership, civic courage, democratic resilience, and what lessons the 20th century still holds for navigating an uncertain future.

Lech Wałęsa is a Polish statesman and Nobel Peace Prize laureate who led the Solidarity movement that helped end Communist rule in Central Europe. He served as Poland’s President from 1990 to 1995 and remains a global voice on democracy, civic courage, and democratic transition.
