This intermediate bookbinding class will teach you how to create your own leather wrap journal or sketchbook!
About this Event

Dive deeper into bookbinding as you learn the long and link stitch! Students will learn a brief history of leather-bound books, and will receive guided instruction on how to create their own leather wrap book with suede or twine closure. Select your leather, thread color, and closure material to create a book that is uniquely you! There is an add-on option if you wish to incorporate beads into your binding as well!

This is a "make and take" class - students will create one leather-wrap book to take home.

While not required, it is recommended that you attend Shuttle Press & Bindery's "Pamphlet Stitch" class before attempting this binding - we will be building upon the sewing techniques we've already learned! Prior hand-sewing experience is recommended.

Students can direct any/all questions about this class to the instructor, Dana, via email: [email protected]
