Leather Journal Making at Leffler
About this Event
Spend the day at Australia's home of leather - Leffler in West Melbourne - learning the basics of leathercrafting with our resident expert, Phil.
The journal features an elastic closure and a hand-sewn document pouch, and is suitable for an A5-sized journal.
You can choose from veg-tanned leather or something more exciting like patent or even reptile-print.
You'll learn to cut and punch holes in leather, set eyelets in place, and finish edges. More adventurous students can also get a taste for traditional saddle-stiching, but there is an option for a simpler riveted construction also.
Phil is a leatherworker and educator with countless years of experience, making projects such as journal covers, pouches, sheaths and wallets.
Parking is available on-site, and tools, materials and snacks are supplied.
Don't want to bring a packed lunch? Choose the lunch add-on and we'll fetch you a delicious bahn mi or rice paper rolls.
