Description: Mondays ( 6p-8pm May 4-June8) .
Have you been dreaming about making your own clothes but don't know where to start? This class is for you! In this class, you will learn how to:
- Prepare and & Cut Fabric
- Draft a circle skirt with a waistband using your own measurements
- Sew an easy woven top using a pattern
- Learn sewing techniques eg. seam finishes, hemming, adding a zipper, hook & eye closure and more...
By the end of this 6- week course, you will have a cute skirt and top to take home just in time for the summer! We will wrap up our class on June 8th, with a mini fashion show to commemorate your accomplishments!
Who should take this class: This is a beginner friendly class for students who have basic sewing skills
Supplies Provided: Sewing machine, thread, sewing tools, 7inch Zipper, hook and eye closure, and pattern. If you prefer to bring your own sewing machine, you are welcome to do so.
Students to Bring:
- 4 1/2 yards of woven fabric: (2 1/2 yards is for the skirt and 2 yards is for the shirt.)
(NO Stretchy fabric). Suggested fabric options are Cotton, Quilting Cotton, Poplin, Linen.

Instructor: Silvia Santos
Silvia is a sewing professional with a bachelor's degree in Fashion Design from Parsons, NY and an AAS in Fashion Design and Fine Arts and illustration. She has extensive industry work experience in fashion design and has taught classes in sewing, pattern making, and knitting. She is passionate about making clothes and likes to teach others how to do the same.,
