Come join us on Sat Jan 25 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Ives Arts Club for a fun and interactive drawing workshop!

Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to revisit basic skills, and improve your confidence, this event is perfect for you. Artists Zoe Eaton and Peter Giles will guide you through various techniques and exercises to help you unleash your creativity and improve your drawing abilities in just one day! All materials and refreshments are included.

During the day you will:

• Engage in fun exercises to improve observational skills, confidence and free up your approach
• Define basic drawing techniques including line, form, tone, texture and composition.
• Use mark making to get the most from drawing media including graphite, drawing pen, charcoal, coloured pencils, inks and pastels.
• Create a monochrome line drawing of seasonal plants and seaweed.
• Create a tonal value chart and make a tonal drawing of pebbles and shells
• Discover the benefits of keeping a sketchbook
• Create a simple line and tonal sketch of a St Ives view - using horizon line, depth, foreground and background.
• Draw a Still life of a group of objects - how to measure angles, relationshiops between objects, using negative a positive space

Leave the day with finished drawings on quality papers, and a sketchbook full of your exercises, notes and handouts.
