LEARN Book Club: Marsha – The Joy and Defiance of Marsha P. Johnson

Guilford Green Foundation & LGBTQ Center is excited to announce that LEARN will be leading a community book club this spring.

We will read Marsha: The Joy and Defiance of Marsha P. Johnson by Tourmaline. This is the first full biography of Marsha P. Johnson, a revolutionary Black transgender activist and one of the most important figures in LGBTQIA+ history movement in the U.S. The biography traces Marsha’s life and impact, from her activism and leadership during the Stonewall Uprising and beyond.

The book club is supported by our local bookstore partners: Scuppernong Books and The Second Hand Book Shop.

Copies may be purchased through our bookstore partners. A limited number of free books will also be available.

Meeting Dates & Times:
All meetings will take place from 5:30–7:00 p.m. at the Guilford Green Foundation & LGBTQ Center.

• March 18 – Kickoff Session
• April 15 – Discussion Meeting 1
• May 20 – Discussion Meeting 2
• June 17 – Discussion Meeting 3

Light refreshments will be provided at each meeting.
