Leaf Blower Pro Skills – Get Competition Ready FREE Workshop

The pracrtical workshop takes place on 12th of June with competiton judging taking place for this category on either the 22nd or 23rd of June

This practical workshop is designed to help beginners, keen gardeners, grounds staff, and professionals learn how to use a powered leaf blower safely, effectively, and efficiently while preparing for the West Midlands Grow & Garden Awards 2026.

During the session you will learn:

• Safe operation of a leaf blower
• Basic maintenance and safety checks
• Correct blowing techniques
• How to move leaves and litter efficiently
• How to create clean collection piles
• Working with the wind and surroundings
• Environmentally responsible clearing techniques
• Tips to help achieve Bronze, Silver, or Gold competition standard

This is a fun, hands-on workshop with guidance from experienced tutors who will help you understand what judges are looking for in the Professional Garden Blower competition category.

West Midlands Grow & Garden Competition

The West Midlands Grow & Garden Competition is a celebration of practical gardening skills, creativity, sustainability, and community pride. Whether you are completely new to gardening, a keen allotment grower, part of a community group, or a professional in the horticulture industry, there is a category for you. This competition is designed to encourage people to grow plants, develop gardens, design green spaces, repair and restore tools, and creatively reuse materials for gardening.

All entries will be judged against a clear set of criteria and awarded a Bronze, Silver, or Gold medal standard. There are enough medals for everyone, meaning participants are judged on how well they meet the standard rather than competing directly against one another.
