Join us at our poetry open mic night on 27 July! Come as you are, be moved by the words of the poets who dwell among us every day, and leave refreshed. We welcome Muslim poets of all levels of confidence and ability, and a respectful audience of any background.
Layl Ash-Shayr is a literary organisation that aims to platform and nurture Muslim writers and creatives. Informally, we're just a group of Muslim friends who wanted a more Muslim-friendly poetry scene in Singapore and do whatever we can to make that happen. We host monthly open mic nights and weekly writing circles, and occasionally get up to other literary tomfoolery.
