About this Event
4-H Presentation Contest participants create and deliver an original presentation on a topic related to one of their favorite 4-H project areas, such as Agriculture, Animals, Natural Resources, Healthy Lifestyles, STEM or Leadership, Citizenship, and Personal Development.
What Is a Presentation?
A presentation is when youth share information, ideas, or skills with an audience. This can be done through an illustrated talk, demonstration, or similar format.
Levels of Competition:
i. County (Optional) - this contest!
ii. Regional - Video submission; registration opens in December. Regional winners are invited to compete at State.
iii. State - February 13, 2027
Who Can Compete?
Cloverbuds
○ May participate at the county and regional level.
○ May submit to the regional level but will only receive feedback only (no placement).
Juniors and Seniors
○ Eligible to compete at all three levels (county, regional, and state).
Timing requirements:
• Cloverbud (ages 5–8): 3-minute presentation
• Juniors (ages 9–13): 3–8-minute presentations
• Seniors (ages 14–19): 8–12-minute presentations
Practice makes perfect! Know your time and make it count!
Equipment:
Basic equipment like a table, easel, screen, laptop, and projector will be provided, but you must bring any other supplies you need. No animals can be used in your presentation. Youth must bring their presentations saved on a USB drive as a PowerPoint or PDF file. It is strongly recommended that participants have a backup (e.g., an emailed copy or cloud-based version).
Consistent Guidelines and Rubric:
To ensure fairness and consistency, all levels of competition (county, regional, and state) should follow the South Carolina 4-H Presentation Guidelines and all presentations will be judged using the SC 4-H Presentations Rubric.

Membership requirement: Current 4-H membership in is required for participation in this event.
Custodial Care: Please note that this event and its coordinators do not assume custodial care of youth in attendance. Adults (parents, guardians, volunteers, coaches, or chaperones) must be present for the supervision of youth participants.
