This summer, we’re launching a brand-new advanced robotics experience in partnership with the Harrisonburg High School FTC Robotics team.In this 6-week Launch Lab: Robotics Challenge, students will take on a real engineering mission:
👉 Design, build, and program a robot capable of launching paper airplanes
Working alongside experienced student engineers from the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics team, participants will experience what it’s like to be part of a real robotics team—collaborating, problem-solving, and building toward a shared goal.
This is a team-driven, project-based experience designed for middle and high school students ready to go beyond introductory classes and take on a real multi-week engineering challenge.
By the end of the program, students will have built and programmed a functional paper airplane launcher robotic system —and gained firsthand experience in how engineers design, test, and improve real-world solutions.
This experience reflects the type of advanced, project-based work students engage in during our school-year Innovator Lab program, making it a great next step for those interested in continuing their journey beyond the summer.
• This is not an introductory class
• Students should have prior experience in at least one of the following:
◦ 3D design (TinkerCAD, Onshape, Fusion 360, or similar)
◦ Robotics and/or coding
• This program is especially well-suited for:
◦ Students who have completed Creator-level Robotics and/or 3D Printing Studios or Summer Camps at Juice Works 3D
◦ Current Juice Works 3D students enrolled in Innovator Lab
