One class- 6 dances - lots of movement!
With one goal- JUST FOR FUN, to learn about different styles of latin dance and the steps that go with them as a way to invite movement into your day and sweat! ...oh wait, that's more than one goal- but you get the idea.
This class is for you, if you:
💛 enjoy music and dancing
💚 are intrigued by cultures and want to learn more
🦄 want to shake things up and try something new
💜 want to learn how to dance latin music and curious about belly dance, but not ready to jump in fully
❤️ don't know how to dance latin music and want to start from the very, very basic level of understanding the steps
💕 love dancing latin music and can dance well, but don't get to go out much and shake your booty
♥️ don't feel like partner dancing, but want to still explore as a solo dancer
💪 have an opening in your week and want to do something for yourself and your body and get it moving
🦋 looking for a fun workout
🔥 want to sweat and have fun
You will be introduced to the BASICS of:
Salsa
Merengue
Bachata
Belly Dance
Punta
Cumbia
... and sometimes more
This class is not for you if you are a hot shot dancer looking for a place to show off your moves- maybe we will design a class for you at another time... not now 😆

Studio Shakti New Orleans in the Marigny!
On Tuesday evenings.
I offered this class from 2008-2011 and it was a wonderful time- then I shifted my energy and attention to just Belly dance and continued focusing on only that since then. There were many latin dance classes and socials in the city, so it was a great time to shift gears.
However, now, in our new studio, we have the opportunity to pick up where we left off and get to more dancing! Join me!

No dance experience necessary. None at all. Absolute Beginners are ABSOLUTELY welcome... in fact, I'd prefer it!!!
