Last Day of School Bonfire Bash 2024

This community event will include a bonfire s’more-making (chocolate bars donated by Hershey) bouncy house games outdoor movie food and Italian Ice truck. The first 50 kids will receive a free Italian Ice! All proceeds will go toward further developing Never Hungry Community Gardens, which is a non-profit organization that aims to address food insecurity and promote healthier lifestyles by providing a vast community garden in Shelby County, offering 240 individual plots, and to bridge the gap when access to fresh produce is unavailable or limited for many. Rooted in the spirit of community Never Hungry Community Gardens blossomed into existence in 2023. Nestled in Shelby County our garden will serve as a green haven fostering connections among neighbors and cultivating a shared passion for sustainable living. Our vision is to promote healthier lifestyles through access to personally grown fresh produce provide avenues for family activities build stronger communities through outreach and provide opportunities for learning and relieving stress. We intend to provide a safe area to focus on overall well-being body and mind while providing healthy options to dinner tables across the Mid-South. We plan to set up our gardeners for success by providing the necessary space plot securement basic gardening tools seeds watering service and gardening education. Through our efforts we will not only provide access to fresh locally grown produce but also educate and engage individuals in sustainable practices creating a lasting impact on both the environment and the well-being of our community. Acknowledging that our efforts extend beyond cultivating crops to nurturing the development of future farmers and leaders in agriculture we are dedicated to embracing a comprehensive approach to community development.
