Castleford and Pontefract District Lions are holding their annual lantern making competition.
Join in with free lantern making workshops at Pontefract Castle. Adults and children of all ages and abilities are welcome.
The competition theme for 2026 is ‘the natural world’. All entries will be on display in Pontefract Market Hall from 2 to 21 November for public judging. Winners of the competition will receive a £50 gift voucher.
Note: all lanterns are made of willow and tissue paper. They are made to carry, not let off into the skies.
