Our first poster. Artists are slow to get images to me but I want to make an official announcement, this being six months since mom's passing. I am dedicating the show to my parents, with a silent auction to raise funds for the Langley Hospice.Keep an eye out, as I will be highlighting our artists as we get closer to the exhibition!!

THE BLURB - It has been a long time since the Langley Outdoor Art Exhibition was in the spotlight. Yes, The Clark’s said 2009 was to be their fond farewell but co-founder, Melissa Clark believes the LOAE is still a vital part of the visual arts in Langley, even after all these years. Sadly, last year, Melissa lost the two most important people to help her put this show on, her mom and dad. Those who have been participants or visited the exhibitions in the past, will remember Walter and Helen as the gentle guiding duo who oversaw the family make six successful shows. That being said, Melissa is dedicating this year’s Langley Outdoor Art Exhibition to them. She cannot say if this is a one off or if she will continue but this is the perfect time to honour her parents. They worked tirelessly over ten years to bring Langley this exhibition showcasing quality and fascinating artworks. A lot has changed since the last show, as they moved out of Langley City to Brookswood and life just got too hard to do anything creative.
A rundown memory lane, here is a little history on the exhibition. The event took place every two years (they skipped 2008) at their ½ acre home in a park like setting. Since the first show, they have had over 130 artists participate. The concept is educational, displaying a range of visual arts and culture to the public in their front and back yard. There has usually been no more than two artists exhibiting the same media of high quality work but this year there will be some overlap due to the demand of which artists are coming back. Thirty two participating artists are either emerging or have significant experience in their chosen techniques. Therefore, every artwork and artist will bring wonderment and awe to the show!! It is an exciting time for all involved, sharing each other's work ethics and ideas, and meeting new people especially the curiosity of the public. Lastly, the attendance for the shows has been up to 1000 but it has been a long time, and a new location, Melissa is not sure what to expect.
In addition to this year’s exhibition is a Silent Auction with all proceeds going to the Langley Hospice as they took care of Walter and Helen. The Langley Hospice is a gem in our community!!
