The South Central Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO (SCFL) will celebrate Labor Day on Monday, September 7th at the Madison Labor Temple grounds on South Park Street. Hips Don’t Lie – Shakira Tribute Band and Chris O’Leary Band will perform. Kids activities include a bounce house, magic shows, face painting, and balloon twisting. Labor-Fest is free and open to the public. Food and beverages available for purchase.
SCFL's Community Services Committee will be taking collections for students whose families are homeless or in unstable housing. $25 gift cards (St. Vincent de Paul and Goodwill encouraged), backpacks-especially for high-school students-markers, colored pencils, fidgets, and African American hair-care products.
