DOWNTOWN MADISON ON CAPITOL SQUARE
Held since 1983, Taste of Madison is Madison Festivals, Inc.'s flagship event, with over 90 restaurants, 2 entertainment stages, games, and fun events drawing over 250,000 to the Capitol Square over Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend. There is no charge for admission or entertainment.
Did you know that Taste of Madison is a not-for-profit event? Annually, we raise nearly $100,000 for local non-profit and charitable organizations.

Backyard Tailgate presented by Thrill Factory - Located on E. Washington Avenue, the Backyard Tailgate is your go-to spot to cool off, relax in the shade, and have some fun! Challenge your friends to FREE arcade games, conquer the climbing wall, grab a refreshing drink, and keep the party going all day with DJ Fusion spinning your favorite tunes.
The Recharge Lounge presented by Don's Home Furniture - Need a break? Head to W. Washington Avenue, kick back in the shade, recharge your phone, challenge your friends to lawn games, and rest up before heading back out for more food, music, and festival fun.
NEW for 2026: The Tasty Trolley powered by MG&E! Your feet deserve a break! Hop aboard the FREE Tasty Trolley and ride between the Capitol Square and Library Mall all weekend long. Whether you're chasing your next delicious bite, exploring State Street, or just taking a break from all the fun, the Tasty Trolley is the easiest (and most enjoyable!) way to get around. Thanks to MG&E, all you have to do is climb aboard, sit back, and enjoy the ride!
