La vida es sueño / Life is a Dream

In this exciting collaboration between Merced Shakespearefest and the UC Merced Spanish Program, students and community members will stage a new bilingual adaptation of Pedro Calderón de la Barca's iconic play La vida es sueño / Life is a Dream. This deeply philosophical play encourages actors and audience alike to consider fundamental questions such as: what is reality; what makes a good life; and how should we treat our fellow human beings, in our families and our nation. Strong emotions, humor, music, dance, stage combat, and both Spanish and English enrich this staging of about 70 minutes.

Sunday, October 27, at 2 pm (There is no Friday performance!)

Cost:

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased on-line on EventBrite or at the door 30 minutes before the play starts. Donations above $10 are very welcome.
