Shelter Me: The Cancer Pioneers is a feature documentary about groundbreaking clinical trials for dogs with cancer and how these treatments are being applied to people with cancer. The film features some of the leading scientists at the National Cancer Institute / National Institutes of Health, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Illinois, the University of Wisconsin and Colorado State University. This is an inspiring and hopeful story. The immunotherapies that the dogs and people are receiving are showing tremendous results. This field of science is called comparative oncology and dogs are leading the way for new treatments in people. Dogs are amazing and bring so much to our lives...and are now helping save our lives!!
