Dear Black Boy: Futures Not Funerals📅 March 14, 2026
📖 Book Release + Legacy Conversation
March 14 is not just a date—it’s a turning point.
On this day, the author’s father was murdered.
And from that loss, a voice was born.
Join Kwabena Antoine Nixon for an evening of readings, poetry, performance, and open conversation as he releases his new book, Dear Black Boy: Futures Not Funerals. This is more than a book launch—it’s a legacy conversation rooted in truth, healing, and hope.
Throughout the night, Kwabena will share moments of vulnerability and strength, inviting the room into his storytelling journey—how grief shaped his voice, how poetry became survival, and how legacy is built when we choose futures over funerals.
This experience is especially for young Black males, but it’s open to anyone who believes in the power of story, community, and restoration.
✨ What to Expect:
• Live readings & spoken word poetry
• Performances
• Question & answer conversation with the author
• Food, music, and art
• A safe, intentional space for healing, redemption, and restoration
This night honors the past while speaking life into what’s next.
Come listen. Come feel. Come be part of the legacy.
Pre-orders coming soon.
