About the Kudremukh Trek:
The Kudremukh Trek is one of the most scenic and popular treks in Karnataka, known for its lush green landscapes and rolling hills that resemble the shape of a horse’s face (which is what “Kudremukh” means). Located within the Kudremukh National Park, this trek takes you through dense forests, grasslands, streams, and mist-covered valleys, offering breathtaking views throughout the journey. The trail is moderately challenging and typically spans around 18–20 km (round trip), making it suitable for beginners with good fitness levels. The best time to visit is from June to February, especially during the monsoon and post-monsoon seasons when the hills are at their greenest. Permits are required to enter the national park, and the trek is usually done as a day hike starting from the base village Mullodi.
