November's Drumming Circle
Drumming, Mantra and various Medicine Songs
What to expect:
Each monthly Circle will have a different theme.
The theme for November is
'Honouring the Ancestors' .
November carries within it the energetic shift of Samhain. Samhain means - 'Summers End'
For the indigenous people of these Isles, Samhain marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the descent into Winter.
The Ancestors marked this time in their cyclical year as the midway point between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice.
( That date falls around 7th November this year)
Within some of the great Neolithic Stone Temples built on these lands, there is often a Samhain Solar/Lunar/ or other planetary Alignment.
Many years ago, I had a powerful visionary encounter of some Sacred Funerary Rites being carried out at this time of year within a Stone Circle. The body of the deceased was laid on a specifically built wooden platform within this Temple Space and then 'smoked' from underneath. As the smoke rose, it took with it the Spirit of the deceased person to the higher realms...
In traditions all around the world, this time of year is celebrated as a time to honour and connect with the Ancestors.
The words ' The thinning of the Veils' is often associated with this time of year, but in truth there is a 'thinning of the veils' every single day... For me, Dusk is the time I feel this deeply.
For this Drumming Circle, we will be working with the energy of Yew. Yew trees are incredible Tree Beings. For thousands of years they have been honoured as bridges between Life, Death and Rebirth.
And for me it is the Yew which represents
' The Tree of Life'.
They are known as the ' Tree of the Eternal' as they have the potential to live forever under the right conditions.
Yew Trees can be found in Grave yards and act as wonderful powerful Beings of Cyclical change.
Quite literally acting as chief transmuter within the cycle of Life, Death, Rebirth.
Yew is also known as the 'Tree of the Ancestors'.
For this circle we will chant all the ancient names of the Yew as we drum. There'll be a guided meditation/journey working with Yew to call in the Wisdom and Gifts of the Ancestors of both our Maternal and Paternal lineages.
We'll also be calling in the Wisdom and Gifts of our Ancestors of our Soul time lines, Cosmic family and Nature family.
You'll need to bring a small bottle of water and you'll need to bring a little something to represent your ancestors to place on the altar.
Before entering the space we will cleanse our energies fields with a specially prepared
'Journey' incense, made from Mugwort and Flyagaric.
( I purchased this from a gifted Medicine Woman based in Ireland)
This will be a beautiful nourishing evening, set within a Sacred Ceremonial Atmosphere, with a Meditative, Healing and Unifying flow
Nov 14th 7.30pm- 9.30pm £10
