Knife to Meet You! Part 1: The Squirrel's Tail Knife

This is a 2-day class, your ticket also includes the second session on Saturday, November 9th, and the non-member price includes a month of membership to Manchester Makerspace so you can continue to develop your skills!
The art of Bladesmithing goes back as far as humans have worked iron. This noble tradition carries on even today, and recently received a renaissance thanks to the popularity of the hit reality show Forged in Fire on the History Channel. In this class, taught by a competitor from the show, you will forge your first knife.

The “Squirrel's Tail,” or “Blacksmith’s” Knife is an excellent starting point in the craft. By the end of this class, you will have a basic understanding of blade profiling, grinding a bevel, taper, quenching, heat treat and sharpening. Plus, you’ll have your very own high carbon steel knife to take home!
Note: All participants must adhere to the Class Contract.
