Join us for a Kintsugi art workshop at Haddon Hall, led by celebrated gilder Amelia Bedson. Kintsugi, which roughly translates as ‘golden joinery’, is a Japanese art form where broken pottery pieces are repaired with gold, creating an even stronger, more beautiful piece. It is based on the philosophy that the value of an object lies not in its beauty but in its imperfections, and that these imperfections are something to celebrate, not hide.
This beginner’s half-day workshop is an introduction to the technique. All tuition, materials and equipment are supplied, as well as two pieces of pottery for each participant to work on.
Your ticket includes half-price admission to Haddon Hall and its beautiful gardens on the same day.
Please note that tickets are non-refundable.
