Kins-giving Potluck & Food Drive

Come join us for a Kins-giving gathering at the Urban Indigenous Collective!

We acknowledge that this day is especially hard for our first contact tribe relatives, and wish to honor and hold space for all first-contact tribes and all Indigenous kin who were and are still facing the devastating effects of colonization. Our existence is our resistance! We will also use this space to honor eachother, and celebrate our individual tribal traditions and oral history by engaging in storytelling and shared experiences and share in the sacred medicine of giving and sharing food with one another.

We also will be organizing a food drive this year. We will be donating pantry items to the NEYL who organize food distributions in Spanish Harlem every Sunday. The food drive is open to anyone in need during these difficult times.

We will be accepting Food Pantry that including:

• Canned goods (corn, beans, pumpkin, tuna, yams etc.)
• Bags a rices and pasta
• Boxed soup or broth
• Juice
• Child Formula
• Water jugs and bottles

All donated items can not be past their expiration date.

We look forward to welcoming you to this heartfelt celebration, where every voice is cherished and every story honored.

Everyone who attends is highly encouraged to bring a food dish to share since this is a potluck-style gathering. It can be homemade or store-bought.
