King of Fools is a new musical comedy premiered last year to great acclaim, written by Martin Dimery ( from The Unravelling Wilburys) in musical collaboration with Helen Turner, renowned keyboard player- notably with Paul Weller's Style Council. Martin and Helen appear in the four piece stage band.
Henry the Eighth demands his famous jester, Will Sommers, cheer up Anne Boleyn as they wait for Henry's divorce. Will discovers a young barmaid called Jane and thinks she could be the ideal solution. Presenting her at court as "Jane Fool," she becomes an instant success as Anne's jester, only to fall foul of Cromwell's later plot against the young queen.
Kairos Theatre Company incorporates experienced performers from around the region and specialises in presenting new or rarely seen plays.
