Join us for the South’s favorite heritage transport event! For one day only, the iconic green and cream buses of King Alfred Motor Services return to their home turf to provide a nostalgic transport experience like no other.Whether you’re a lifelong transport enthusiast, a family looking for a unique Bank Holiday out, or a local resident wanting to relive the "Good Old Days," there is something for everyone.
What’s Happening?
Ride for Free: Dozens of beautifully restored vintage buses and coaches will be running on historic routes throughout the city and surrounding villages.
Souvenir Programs: Pick up our official timetable and commemorative program to plan your day and support the Friends of King Alfred Buses (FoKAB) charity.
Accessibility: Please note that as these are genuine historic vehicles from the 1930s–70s, most are not low-floor and involve steps to board.
Support Us: While rides are free, we rely entirely on donations and program sales to keep these "Green Goddesses" on the road.
