Kinda.forward: Small Steps to Sustainability is a free, half-day gathering at the UTAS Inveresk Campus in Launceston where people, ideas and action come together to explore circular living in a way that feels practical, hopeful and genuinely doable.This is not a lecture. It is a choose-your-own-adventure through making, fixing, learning and connecting, designed for curious beginners and seasoned changemakers alike.
Across the day you can drop into short talks and micro-panels from local voices, get hands-on in workshops and live demonstrations, visit a small marketplace of innovative local brands, bring something broken to the Fix-It Foundry for repair advice, explore the Sprouts Studio with your family, and take one clear next step through the Kinda. Lab Small Steps Action Lab.
Every session ends with a real, local pathway forward, because the aim is not awareness. It is movement.
What to expect on the day:
A welcoming, no-shame space where progress always beats perfection. Families, kids, community groups, students, small businesses and sustainability practitioners are all equally at home here.
Entry is free via Humanitix registration. Walk-ins welcome.
