Speakers on Food Security:

Robyn Minogue:

Robyn is an agroecological grower, seed worker, network builder and food sovereignty activist based in South Devon. Her work sits at the intersection of farming, seed sovereignty and grassroots organising.

Andy Johnson:

Andy Johnson: Andy has 40 years’ experience in farming and food, including eight years helping grow Riverford Organic Farmers and subsequently running his own organic egg business in South Devon. He now advises organic farmers on sales, marketing and technical projects and is a trustee of Food Exeter. Andy also sits on the Devon Food Partnership steering committee and works through the Peninsula Food Partnership to explore how Devon and Cornwall could build the infrastructure, skills and distribution networks needed for greater local food resilience.

Alice Wyness: 

Farming Engagement Officer for South Devon National Landscapes, supporting farmers through the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme. With a background spanning farming, agricultural research and environmental land management, she brings practical experience and a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing farmers and rural communities.

John Cummings: 

Totnes Town Councillor (Green Party) and member of the South Devon Lifehouse Network. John will bring the Lifehouse perspective on food security and community resilience, exploring the fragility of the food system in the face of climate disruption and other shocks, and how stronger local networks and community preparedness can help us build a more resilient food future for South Devon.
