Kids Crochet Club
About this Event
This workshop is open to both complete beginners and children who already crochet.
Every Friday starts with a short introduction to crochet for anyone joining us for the first time. After that, each child works on a project suited to their own level, with individual guidance and support throughout the workshop.
There is no need for everyone to make the same thing.
One child might be learning how to make their first chain, while another is working on a granny square, a flower, a bag or their first amigurumi project.
The idea is simple: every child starts from where they are and keeps progressing from there.
New to crochet?
No problem.
We will help your child learn the foundations, including:
- How to hold the crochet hook and yarn
- Making a slip knot
- Crocheting a chain
- Learning basic stitches
- Starting their first small project
Beginners can join us on any Friday, there is no need to wait for the beginning of a course.
Already know how to crochet?
They are very welcome too.
Children who already know the basics can continue developing their skills, learn new techniques or work on their own crochet project with guidance.
Depending on their level, this could include:
- Granny squares
- Crochet flowers
- Colour changes
- Different stitches
- Working in rows or rounds
- Small accessories
- Simple bags
- Beginner amigurumi
- Following simple patterns
If your child already has a project they are working on, they may also bring it along and we can help them continue.
Who can join?
Age: 7–12 years
All levels are welcome:
- Never crocheted before
- Tried crochet before
- Know some basic stitches
- Already working on crochet projects

Group size: Small group to allow individual guidance
All essential crochet materials will be available during the workshop.
Children who already crochet are welcome to bring their own hook, yarn or current project.
Can we come every Friday?
Yes, you can join for one workshop or come back regularly.
Children who attend regularly can continue working on their projects and gradually build their crochet skills from week to week.
There is no pressure to complete a project in a single session. Some projects may take several Fridays, and that's part of the experience.
