Join us for a project to thank and honor the first responders that protect Park Ridge. October 28th is National First Responders Day, and our Kids Club will be creating care packages for all the firefighters, paramedics, and police officers who serve the City of Park Ridge.
Kids of all ages are invited to participate, to help brighten the day and say "Thank You" to their local heroes. At this event, families will:
-- Create individual hand-made thank you cards for firefighters, paramedics, and police
-- Decorate gift bags for first responders
-- Assemble care packages for each of the 101 first responders who serve Park Ridge
-- Pizza & Water will be served
This is not a drop-off event. Parents must stay on site with children. Grown-ups must be hands-on with the assembly project for kids aged 0-7.
How does this event make an impact?
-- Care packages created during our event will be hand-delivered to the firefighters, paramedics, and police officers of Park Ridge, to show the community's support and gratitude for their service.
-- 75% of ticket prices will go towards a monetary donation the IPPFA's Heroes Family Fund, a 501(c)3 that provides financial support to Illinois families of fallen or catastrophically injured firefighters and police officers.
-- 25% of ticket prices will help Pennies for Pennyville support Park Ridge families and organizations in need of assistance.
-- THANK YOU to Envision Pelvic Health for making a generous donation to cover our craft materials costs, so that more of the dollars raised can go directly to the Heroes Family Fund.
-- THANK YOU to Empowering Her Path & Protolight Inc. - local businesses who have pledged to match dollar-for-dollar all money raised by this event, tripling our donation to the Heroes Family Fund!
