Kids Book Club : 'War Dog' Storytime + Activities (Ages 4+)

Discover the incredible true story of Judy, the only dog officially registered as a prisoner of war, in this moving new picture book by bestselling author Tom Palmer and illustrator Carolina Rabei.

Join Nicci at Happy Reading Children’s Bookshop for a special read-along and thoughtful creative activity inspired by War Dog, which gently introduces young readers to themes of bravery, loyalty and hope.

Each £5 ticket includes a paperback copy of War Dog, published by Scholastic and available from 14th August.

Need to know info about the event and venue:

〰 Suitable for children aged 5+

〰 Event duration: 30 minutes

〰 Ticket price is £5 per child (includes a paperback copy of the book, usually £7.99) - booking is essential

〰 Additional information: the bookshop is on the 1st floor up a flight of stairs; children will sit on the floor/on chairs for the reading, then at a child’s play table & chairs or be stood around a crafting table, and will be provided with equipment including washable colouring pencils/crayons/pens depending on their age and ability. There are a couple of seats for adults who wish to attend with their children, otherwise adults will be expected to stand and watch (and join in if they like), or enjoy a lovely coffee and pastry downstairs in STAPLE.
