The Society of Free Spirits invites you to investigate, in this YA crime series with a supernatural twist.After her father and older sister both die suddenly, Dolores is left with the family's inheritance, and a large house she's sure is haunted. Teaming up with her occult-obsessed neighbour, Ada, and the mysterious spiritual medium, Violet, the three girls plan to dispel the bad spirits from Dolores' home.But when Dolores uncovers a clue that suggests her sister Edith's death wasn't due to natural causes, what starts as an investigation into ghostly apparitions develops into the unravelling of something far more sinister...

Felicity Epps studied a degree in English Literature before completing a Masters in Eighteenth-Century Studies, where her research focused on female murderers in true crime writing! Felicity finds inspiration in history; researching strange and spooky subjects. She enjoys exploring cemeteries, collecting old books and hunting for ghostly Victorian photographs in antique shops. Felicity currently lives in Broadstairs, Kent.

Each £5 ticket includes a paperback copy of 'The Society of Free Spirits: A Grave Inheritance', out 31st July - the first in a brand new trilogy.

〰 Suitable for children aged 12+

〰 Event duration: 60 minutes

〰 Ticket price is £5 per child (includes a paperback copy of the book, usually £9.99) - booking is essential

〰 Additional information: the bookshop is on the 1st floor up a flight of stairs; there is seating on chairs and a large table for the writing workshop. All matierials will be provided. There are a couple of seats for adults who wish to attend with their children, otherwise adults will be expected to stand and watch (and join in if they like), or enjoy a lovely coffee and pastry downstairs in STAPLE.
