Get your rod and bait ready—KidFish returns June 20!
KidFish is a free fishing derby for kids ages 16 and under, taking place in the Tay Basin and along the Tay River. Registration starts at 8 a.m. beside the Perth Legion, and the Derby runs from 8-11 a.m. Prizes and lunch are provided for all registered kids (lunch will be served shortly after 11 a.m.).
This is bank fishing only (no boats) between Gore and Beckwith Streets. Hosted by the Town of Perth and Perth Fire Services, with special guests the Ministry of Natural Resources and Lanark & District Fish & Game Conservation Club.
Special thanks to the Legion volunteers for providing lunch, Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's Outdoor Fund for their sponsorship, and to Pam Stewart and Adam Meraw for their donations of fishing baits from Netbait, Baitfuel, Scumfrog and Halo.
